Language courses in Berlin Mitte

In the language school in Berlin it is possible to choose between intensive courses and private lessons. The intensive courses are courses for groups with 20 or 30 lessons (45 minutes) per week. The groups consist of 6-15 participants and are offered in up to 6 different course levels. It is also possible to combine different courses. All courses are offered during the whole year.

The focus areas of the courses – depending on the course level – are as follows:

  • buildup and development of communicative abilities
  • improvement of the oral and written expressiveness
  • development of the listening and reading comprehension
  • German grammar
  • improvement of pronounciation
  • regional and culture studies.

Course levels

The language school in Berlin Mitte offers all course levels: starting with a total beginner course and ending with the perfection level. The level indications of all courses are consistent with the European frame of reference. This way, after a level test, homogeneous groups can be built so that nobody gets bored or feels overchallenged during the study process. Levels and duration:

  • German A1 (= 8 weeks)
  • German A2 (= 8 weeks)
  • German B1 (= 8 weeks)
  • German B2 (= 8 weeks)
  • German C1 (= 8 weeks)
  • German C2 (upon request)

Decision about the course level is made before arrival with the help of the school personnel.  If necessary, one can also take a short oral level test on the first day of class. We are going to discuss the results with you. In general, it is possible to change the course later.

I have tried many different language schools, many of which were well known in Berlin. However, until I registered at this school, I never really truly had a great experience with the courses. I am very impressed with the quality of the course and with the staff. The staff are very accommodating and work very hard to make sure that you are getting what you need on an individual level. I have learned a lot in a short time, and continue to do so because of the dedicated staff/teachers they provide the students with. I would highly recommend thos language school to anyone who is serious about studying a language. It is worth the money! Rachael

Berlin

Since the fall of the Iron Curtain and the end of division by the Berlin Wall, the city has experienced architectural and cultural renewal to become the epitome of a twenty-first century global metropolis: young, dynamic and international. But Berlin hasn’t ever denied its eventful history. Reflected in the steel and glass of the Reichstag’s cupola and the postmodern shopping centres are opulent, historic buildings of the imperial era, alongside monuments and memorials of the post-war period. The reconstruction of the Prussian City Palace embodies Berliners’ cosmopolitan sense of tradition at its very best: this year, behind the historic façades, the state-of-the-art Humboldt Forum is to become a meeting place for the world’s cultures and nations. Berlin’s creative and start-up scene also draws its inspiration from this rich contrast; since 2006 the city has been honoured with the title ‘UNESCO City of Design’.
